An Everyday Minimal Makeup Look

Welcome to another blog post! Today I thought I would share with you my everyday minimal makeup look. You could say that this is close to a no-makeup makeup look but either way, it is very minimal and very simple. I’m going to take you through the products I have used and a step-by-step process. This is something a little different for me but I hope you enjoy it all the same!

Products I used

First things first, let’s start with the base products.

These are the products I used for bronzer, blush, and highlight.

  • Bronzer – Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation – I love using this as a subtle bronzer for day-to-day makeup as it’s only slightly darker than my skin tone.
  • Blush – Beauty Crop Palm Balm – I never used to like cream blushes but this one is a gorgeous colour with a lovely formula.
  • Highlighter – Revolution Jelly Highlighter – I don’t think you can get this particular shade anymore which is a shame as it’s absolutely stunning.

For my mascara, I used Revolution’s Mascara Revolution. Even though this offers insane volume, I’ve had this one for a while and so the formula is quite dry, meaning I can use it in a natural way.

For my lips, I use the I Heart Revolution Lip Mask and Balm which smells gorgeous and does a great job in keeping my lips moisturised.

Those are the products I use for my makeup. Let’s get into the process.

This is what my face looks like before I put any makeup on. The first thing I like to start with is primer. I mentioned previously in the post that I always wear primer even on minimal makeup days as parts of my skin are extremely dry. This one is moisturising so it works really well for me.

Next, I put on my tinted moisturiser. I find it’s fine to apply this product with my hands as it’s literally just moisturiser with some colour so it doesn’t go on funny or anything like that. This one has fairly decent coverage as well which I like.

I then use concealer. This is actually an optional step in this routine. Sometimes, my skin might look pretty good with just the tinted moisturiser, and therefore, I don’t feel the need for concealer. Other times, like the day I took these pictures, my skin will be quite red and full of blemishes and so I will use concealer just to add that extra bit of coverage.

I then use bronzer just to add a bit of warmth to my face. I apply this to my cheekbones and the outside of my face just to add a little bit of shape and dimension. I prefer using a cream product as my bronzer on a day-to-day basis as I feel it looks more natural compared to a powder product.

I then use a cream blush to add colour to my face. Ever since I started using cream blush daily, I’ve grown to really appreciate it and I maybe, just maybe, prefer it to powder blush. I’m definitely going to have to add more cream blushes to my collection!

Next, I use a highlighter. When I was in secondary school/college, I used to love a blinding highlight. I still do, to be fair, but not for everyday purposes. The jelly highlighter I use every day is a perfect mix of subtle and blinding.

The final part of my base makeup is powder. I mentioned previously I have combination skin, so even though I do have dry patches, I also have oily areas so powder is needed.

I then do my eyebrows. I really like natural brows on a daily basis so I only use brow gel just to fill in my eyebrows and add a bit of shape and colour.

The next stage is mascara. As I’m going for a very minimal look, the way I apply Mascara on a day-to-day basis is different to how I would apply it for going out. All I do is take the wand and just blink down on it. I don’t wiggle the wand to try and get volume. It’s just to add some colour to my lashes. I don’t apply any mascara to my bottom lashes most days just because that’s how I prefer it. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don’t.

The final stage is lips. I love wearing lip balm every day as my lips get extremely dry. Sometimes I might wear a lipstick or another form of lip product, but the majority of the time, it’s lip balm.

And that’s the makeup done! I hope you enjoyed this blog post as it was something a little different for me. Thank you for reading!

Beth
