5 Reasons Why I Like to Use LinkedIn

Ever since I started my Law with Politics degree at university back in September, I have had an account on Linked In which I have found to be very useful and beneficial. Today, I would like to share 5 reasons why I use Linked In. Let’s get to it.

It increases your exposure

You will find that a lot of companies will be on LinkedIn. By being on LinkedIn and following all of these companies, you increase your exposure to them. This can be done by engaging on their posts through liking and commenting. This leads on to the following point.

It allows you to learn more about various companies

I mentioned previously that a lot of companies will be on LinkedIn, and a lot of employees of companies will be on there too. You tend to see a lot of the companies will post news about themselves and things they have been doing. If there are companies on LinkedIn that you have an interest in, it’s a great chance to learn more about them which can help with interviews further down the line.

You can get job notifications

LinkedIn quite often notifies you of job opportunities linked to your skills and interests.

It allows you to discover new things

It is because of LinkedIn that I discovered Aspiring Solicitors. Aspiring Solicitors helps to increase diversity in the legal profession. I managed to secure a place in their AS First Programme which was a big help for me. I honestly wouldn’t have discovered Aspiring Solicitors if it wasn’t for LinkedIn.

It’s like an online CV

LinkedIn has various sections for you to fill out that will attract you to potential employers. For example, you have sections to show your education, skills, experience, achievement and more. You can add to these sections as and when you need to, so it’s always up to date.

Thank you very much for reading. I hope this gave you some inspiration and advice on why LinkedIn is a good website to use!
