Blogmas: 4 Tips on Revising over the Festive Period

I don’t know about you all but I unfortunately have exams after the festive season. This means that I will need to do some revision over this time which is always a weird concept for me. I associate the festive period with eating myself silly, getting a little merry and most importantly, spending time with my family. However, revising for exams is a needs must and so I wanted to share 4 tips with you!

Start as soon as possible

This is quite self-explanatory really. The sooner you start, the more time you have to spread your revision out. This means there is less pressure on you to squeeze in revision at the last minute towards the end of the festive period.

Prepare your revision material as soon as possible

This is something you should do regardless of when you’re revising. If you’re able to get this done before you start revising, you’ll be able to focus on the revision itself during the festive period.

Continue to maintain a balanced life

As I’ve mentioned before, I associate this time of year with spending time with family. After all, it is the holidays. Therefore, you shouldn’t be spending all day every day revising. It can cause you to suffer with burnout and that’s not useful at all. If you have a healthy life, you have a healthy mind. This leads on to my next tip.

Take regular breaks during revision

Just because there are fewer days for revision, it doesn’t mean you should be avoiding breaks. After all, it is no good spending 10 hours solidly revising. Use the breaks to spend time with family, engage in some self-care or watch a good old Christmas film.

And that’s it! Thank you very much for reading and I will see you tomorrow for another blog post!
