Ranking the Roller Coasters at Thorpe Park

Today I have a slightly different post for you all. I love roller coasters. The adrenaline rush that I get is wonderful. I’ve been to Thorpe Park many times now, and today I thought I would rank the roller coasters there from my least favourite to my most favourite. I have not been able to ride every coaster on this list (looking at you, Hyperia) and there are some that I have not been able to ride for at least 9 years. I still wanted to write this post with every roller coaster, and include where I think Hyperia will be in my rankings. Let’s get to it.

8) Flying Fish

This is the only tame family coaster in the park, so naturally it has to be last place. There’s nothing inherently bad about it. I have good memories with friends where we were the only ones on the train and the operator let us go around a few times.

7) The Walking Dead: The Ride

This is a family coaster, but it’s significantly more thrilling than the Flying Fish. I actually have not been able to ride this since it got re-themed to the Walking Dead, but I do remember it being a fun indoor roller coaster!

6) Colossus

The first thrill coaster on the list, Colossus is okay but it’s a bit of a headbanger. I find it a bit meh in terms of the layout and the trains are awful. They’re so small and restrictive.

5) Saw: The Ride

Once upon a time, this used to be my favourite ride in the park. A horror themed roller coaster? Sign me up! However, like the previous ride, this is insanely rough. I try to keep my head forward on this ride whenever I ride it but it’s impossible. I love the layout and the theming, but the roughness unfortunately is the reason why this coaster is where it is in my rankings.

4) Nemesis Inferno

I always feel like this coaster gets a lot of slack because of its ‘sister coaster’ at Alton Towers, Nemesis. However, I personally really like this coaster. Sure, it’s not as intense as Nemesis but I would actually argue it’s aged really well. It’s so much more intense now than it was when I first got to ride it years ago.

3) Stealth

I actually think that 2, 3 and 4 on my list could be switched around. However, this is what I’ve gone for at this moment in time. I have a soft spot for Stealth. Yes, it’s short. Yes, it’s a one trick pony. The launch though is unbelievable. Like Saw, this used to be my favourite roller coaster in the park. It’s just too short though.

2) The Swarm

The Swarm is another coaster like Nemesis Inferno that I believe has gotten better as it’s aged. It’s a really fun ride with good theming around it. It is a little short but there is more to it than Stealth which is why it technically is my favourite roller coaster in the park. For now, anyway.

1) Hyperia

I know I have not been able to ride this yet but look at it. It’s got a height of 236 feet. It’s got a speed of 81mph. I will be amazed if this coaster does not end up being my favourite roller coaster in the park. I will be sure to let you all know!

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!
