My Go-To Way of Making Matcha

Back in July of this year, I made a matcha theme for my bullet journal. Matcha is something that I have grown to absolutely adore over the last year or so, and today I want to share my way of making matcha. I’ve made iced coffee recipe posts a couple of times before, so let’s add this to the collection! Let’s get to it!

This is what you need (plus ice).

First things first, you’ll need to boil a kettle. Whilst you’re waiting, you’ll need a cup and a mini sieve. Place the matcha (the amount is your preference) on the sieve into the cup, making sure to get rid of any bumps.

Once the kettle has boiled, pour water into the cup, being careful not to add too much. Next, get a hand-held frother and use this with the matcha. This creates a froth and helps the matcha to fully mix with the water. I know there are whisks that you can use to create micro-foam with your matcha. I do not have that but it is something I’m looking to buy at some point!

Now that the matcha has been prepared, it’s time to get started with the rest of the drink. Get a glass and add your syrup of choice. I’ve decided to go for vanilla but I have also had strawberry and white chocolate before.

Next, add some ice. I like my drinks to be very cold so I added quite a bit.

Next, add your milk of choice.

Once that has been done, you can add the matcha to the milk and syrup. It will look something like this!

This next step is optional but I love adding cold foam to a lot of my drinks. To make this, add a little bit of syrup and milk to another glass. You’re then going to use the hand-held frother to thicken the milk up.

It should look something like this.

Finally, add this to your matcha and you are done!

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!
