4 Ways to Stay Motivated During a Stressful Semester

Welcome to another blog post. I hope you’re all well and life is treating you good! As you are all aware of by now, I have recently finished my master’s degree. Semesters can be kind of stressful which sucks but there are ways to stay motivated. This is what today’s post is going to be about! Let’s get to it!

Keep Organised

I know this sounds like a really cliche thing to say but keeping organised will keep you motivated. I do this through my bullet journal, but you can use your own planning system depending on what will be suitable for your needs!

Keeping organised will make you feel a lot less overwhelmed. It gives you clarity on the things you need to do which can be really helpful. In addition, you can break things down into small manageable steps, especially with things like assignments!

Take Regular Breaks

Taking regular breaks is important no matter what. Doing so allows you to recharge, digest everything and look at things with a new perspective. I did this a lot in the days leading up to my dissertation due date and I felt like I was a lot more productive taking regular breaks as opposed to just carrying on for large amounts of time.

Make Time for Fun Activities

Taking time to do the things you enjoy will massively help you out! I love journaling, so I took a lot of time to do that at different times. I also enjoyed spending time with my family, enjoying nature and I even went to Thorpe Park during the midst of my dissertation! It’s important to not feel guilty for doing fun activities either. You are free to enjoy life!

Engage in Self-Care

This is kind of similar to the previous point but take time for yourself. Engage in self-care activities like having a bath, doing an extended skin-care routine, making baking some cookies etc. Again, you’re allowed to do this at the same time as studying for university!

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!
