Welcome to another module breakdown post for my master’s degree! So far, I have done 2 of these posts. You can check them out below!
This module breakdown is on Mental Health Law. Let’s get to it!
Content
Like other modules I have discussed, there were ten units .I’m going to list them now:
- Introduction to Legal Research
- Plagiarism and OSCOLA
- Methodology
- Conducting Legal Research 1
- Formulating a Research Question
- Conducting Legal Research 2
- Critical Evaluation of Academic Literature
- Critical Reading Strategies
- Critical Evaluation in Coursework
- Reflections on Research Skills
Workshops
Like the other two modules I’ve already discussed, workshops occurred once a week and were two hours long. Again, these workshops were very interactive. There were preparations we needed to do before each workshop, and these formed the basis of our discussions.
Assessment
One of the best things about this module is that there were no assessments. This was basically a module to help us with being at master’s level so there wasn’t a need to assess us. The skills we developed were assessed through other modules.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, this was a really helpful and insightful module to have. Without this module, I believe that my performance in my other modules would have been impacted. It reinforced what I already knew and developed my skills in a way that was really useful.
And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you tomorrow for another one!
Beth
