Blogmas 2025: 7 Lessons I Learned From My LLM Degree

Welcome to another blogmas post!

I can’t lie, I did struggle to decide whether ‘learned’ or ‘learnt’ was the correct thing to use in the title. Apparently both are correct so I’ll just go for my initial gut feeling.

Anyway, in today’s post, I’m going to be sharing 7 lessons I learned from my LLM degree. For those of you who don’t know, I studied Medical Law and Ethics. I remember being so nervous and unsure of what to expect but there were so many things I learned along the way.

I know these types of posts are cliche, but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless. Let’s get to it!

1) This is the area of law I want to specialise in

2) You get better at time-management every day

3) Networking is a valuable part of law

4) It’s okay to ask basic questions

5) Listen to other students and what insights they have

6) Attend everything

7) Make the most of any extracurriculars that come your way

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you tomorrow for another one!

Beth
