A Day in My Life as a Second Year University Student

Welcome to another day in my life blog post! For those of you who don’t know, my name is Beth and I am a second year Law with Politics student at Bangor University. This is a day in my life from 20th April 2023, which is bang smack in the middle of deadline season and preparation for my exams.

I actually wrote a blog post sometime last year which was a day in my life during first year. I wrote that post as if I was writing about my day in my daily journal. I will be doing sort of the same this time but I won’t be including my feelings like I did previously. This is just going to be a straight up facts based day in my life. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

I started my day by waking up admittedly quite late. I was up at 11 because my lecture wasn’t until 4pm. The first thing I do is make my bed so that it is done and out of the way and also so I don’t get tempted into crawling back into bed.

I then went downstairs and made myself some breakfast. On this particular day, I had marmite on toast. I’m curious to know if you like marmite or not? Let me know in the comments! I also had to have a cup of tea which is what I have every single time I wake up. It’s my absolute favourite.

Once I finished my breakfast, I went into the bathroom and had a shower. I then got dressed, did my makeup and then sat down at my desk ready to do some tasks before I had to go to campus. I had quite a few tasks to getting on with, and I wanted to finish my revision materials so I could actually start revising. I had 3 exams to revise for which I’m hoping went well. Because I’m writing this well in advance, I don’t know. I haven’t even sat the exams yet!

I then had a quick snack before heading out to my to drive to campus. I live about 40 minutes away so I always like to make sure I leave at least an hour early. Like I mentioned before, my lecture wasn’t until 4pm so I left at 3pm. I parked up, met up with my friends and then headed into the lecture.

This lecture was a revision lecture, so it was a brief summary of the topics that were going to be on the exam. It was quite a laid-back lecture, which I liked.

I then headed home again after two hours, which meant it was a very short day. I had dinner when I got back, and then went upstairs to do some work. I then got ready for bed, read a chapter of a book, and that was my day!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this blog post about my day and I will see you soon for another blog post!

Beth

  1. I love Marmite, and I am so happy that my local grocery store gets it in (I now live in the U.S. so getting my British favourites is really hard)! I think starting your day with this for breakfast is great! It sound like your day was nice and not too rushed—the best way to be when getting really for exams, etc. Thanks for sharing!
