Personality tests are a fun way to discover what your specific personality is. They can allow you to gain more information about you, discover new things, and answer any questions you might have about yourself. But are they accurate?
“Although we are still some time away from being able to do that, the current models account for our most important personality traits and can predict our behaviour with a high degree of accuracy.”
One of the most popular personality tests out there is arguably the Myers Briggs Personality Test. This style of test is a self-report questionnaire that indicates differing personality types. The test essentially assigns a binary value to each of the following 4 categories:
- introversion or extroversion
- sensing or intuition
- thinking or feeling
- judging or perceiving
Each of these categories come together to create a personality type for a person, with there being 16 types in total. These can be grouped into 4 categories. I will list out the personality types and the categories but for more information, head to the website. I fear I would be here until the end of the year if I delved into each personality type!

So these are the 16 personality types. But how do you get to that? Essentially, all you’re doing is rating different statements from strongly agree to strongly disagree. Examples of some of the statements include “you regularly make new friends”, “you usually stay calm, even under a lot of pressure” and “you like to have a to-do list for each day.”
So, I took the test and I ended up with INFJ. To make sure I was answering the questions truthfully and accurately, I did the quiz 3 times on 3 separate days and I ended up with INFJ every single time.
So what does INFJ mean? Is it accurate in describing my personality? For me, the answer is yes.
Interestingly, INFJ is actually an uncommon personality type. People who have this personality type care about integrity, have a clear sense of their values and are troubled by injustice. However, INFJ’s tend to suffer with stress and burnout, and are very sensitive to criticism and they can take things personally.
I can’t stress how accurate that is to me. I definitely feel like this describes me and what I stand for.
And that’s it! What is your personality type? Do you find it accurate? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!

I did this test too a few years ago and came out as an INFJ too, and I would say that it does seem to be fairly accurate. I would be interested in doing the test again as it has been a while and see if anything has shifted/changed. Very interesting!
