Eight Months In: Reflecting on My 2026 Goals

Welcome to another blog post! I hope you are all well.

You might be seeing the title of this blog post and thinking, eh? I know this is late. Initially, I was just going to share my 2026 goals and be done with it. However, with it being August, I think it’s really important to actually reflect! I don’t like just ignoring my goals and checking them at the end of the year. Checking how I’m doing throughout the year is important to making progress and keeping accountable.

With all that being said, let’s get to it!

1) Lose at Least 4 Stone By the End of the Year

I am pleased to say I am making good progress with this goal! Even though I haven’t lost 4 stone, I am making progress with losing weight. I wouldn’t want to lose weight too quickly either. Taking it slow is important to maintain consistency.

2) Go to the Gym at Least Once a Week

I’m kind of slacking on this if I’m being completely honest. I can make excuses all day but the truth is I just don’t have the energy for it half the time. Sure, I could say I’m working a lot but other people work a lot too. I need to start getting into a routine and I do have a plan for that.

My work is near my gym so every time I have a day off the next day, my plan is to go to the gym after work. I think that’s a reasonable way to get me going more often.

3) Get My Own Car

This has not gone to plan. I share a car with my brother and I always wanted to get my own car this year. Unfortunately, our car has had a lot of issues which we’re trying to work through. Therefore, we’re focusing on getting a new car for us both and then after that, I want to try and get my own. Whether that happens this year I don’t know. Hopefully it will!

4) Get My Own Place

Yeah, I was a little optimistic at the beginning of the year. Oops. I would be very surprised if this happened. I’m not overly intent on this happening this year as there are other things I want to focus on. Of course, beginning that chapter of my life would be lovely but I’m not in a rush!

5) Get a ‘Law’ Job

This is something that I’m working on silently but slowly. As much as it pains me to say it, I’m not in any rush. I’ve had a promotion to a supervisor at work which I am very happy about! I would feel bad for pushing away so quickly when I’ve had this extra training. Also, I’m waiting for that perfect job. I don’t want to go into a generic ‘law’ job. Medical law is my passion and that’s what I’m focusing on pursuing.

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!

Beth
