How I Reset After a Long Week

Welcome to another blog post!

I want you to picture something. It’s Sunday. You have just finished a very long week and feel extremely and utterly shattered. What do you do?

I guarantee a lot of you will probably say go to sleep and forget the week ever happened. I get that and I would want to do that too. However, what if I told you there was a way to deal with a long week?

In today’s post, I’m going to share how I like to reset after a long week. I do have good news for you though. Sleep is a part of my resetting routine. So if you were planning on clicking off, don’t worry.

Without further ado, let’s get to it!

1) Extended Skincare

I have an extended skincare routine that I do every single week on a Sunday. I don’t particularly know why, but I suffer with getting dark hairs on my face. It’s something I am rather self-conscious about, so this is the reason why I do an extended skincare routine every week. I will shave, exfoliate and if I need to, dye my eyebrows. By doing this, I feel fresh and prepared for the week coming up!

2) A Long Soak in the Bath

I love a bath. If someone asked me whether I prefer having a bath or a shower, I would 100% say a bath. There’s something about being surrounded by hot water that I find so oddly comforting! Anyway, having a long bath not only helps me relax, it also allows me to do some shaving too.

3) Journaling

This could kind of be split into two sections really.

The first is filling out my bullet journal. If I haven’t done so already, I’ll plan out next week’s weekly spread. 9 times out of 10 though, I’ve probably already done it at some point. Once I’ve got my weekly spread, I will plan out for the next week! I’ll note down any events, tasks that need to be done and just prepare for the week ahead. Basically, I’m resetting in my bullet journal.

The next part is just general journaling. Now I journal everyday anyway but I do like to take some time to look at the week gone past, reflect on it and think about how I want the next week to be.

4) Reading

I love to read. Reading is something I do every single day. After a long week, I really like to have an extended reading session. There’s something about being able to immerse yourself in another world. Doing that allows my mind to rest and reset.

5) Meditation

I am trying really hard to meditate more often. It’s something that I should do more as I definitely notice a difference with my mental health and how much more relaxed I feel. I cater my meditation to coping with anxiety as that is something that I do struggle with.

6) An Early Night

For someone that loves my sleep, I really struggle to have early nights. I am very much someone that tends to be asleep after midnight which sucks. However, I do try to get an early night at the end of a long week. Even if it’s at 11:45 instead of after midnight, I consider that a success.

And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!

Beth
