Welcome to another blog post!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I absolutely adore horror films! It’s my favourite film genre but I understand how polarising it can be for some. The idea of being scared to the point of jumping out of your seat every 10 seconds is not fun for many. I completely get it.
Today I want to share some horror films that are just good vibes. When I watch these, I have a smile on my face. Some of these are outright hilarious, some are good beginner horror films and some are just absolute classics. Without further ado, let’s get to it!

1) Ready or Not
Ready or Not is about a woman who marries into a rich family who has to play a deadly game of hide and seek. This is a hilarious film but what I like is that it’s not objectively a comedy horror. It just has funny moments that I like. There are a few jump scares but this is a perfect film to watch if you want to get into horror films.
2) Weapons
I don’t know if I’ve talked about how much I love Weapons before on my blog post but this was my favourite horror film from last year. The only thing I’ll say about this in terms of the plot is that 17 children all from one classroom disappeared overnight. Well, all except one child. I urge you to go in to this film completely clueless. It’s brilliant.
3) Shaun of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead was probably the first horror film I ever watched. It’s a hilarious film that is so clever in its writing and direction. If you like the thought of zombie films with a comedic side, this is the film for you.
4) Scream
Scream is up there as one of my favourite horror films of all time. The opening scene is so intense and the self-awareness throughout is something I really like. It’s funny, but like Ready or Not, it’s not the main aim of the film. This is scary and intense in some scenes but I would urge you to watch it.
5) Megan
Just to clarify, I am not including Megan 2.0 in this. The first film though is actually very good. I love the premise and the underlying themes throughout. It’s not something that’s going to scare the absolute daylights out of you, making this is a good introductory horror film. I really like it!
6) IT
I have yet to see IT: Chapter Two. However, talk about a film that absolutely smashed it at the box office. I love Stephen King and IT was the first book of his that I read. This is also a film that is hilarious but also has some good jump scares and creepy moments. You’ll have such a good time watching it.
And that’s it! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this post and I will see you soon for another one!
Beth
